"Pull Me Down" peaked at 19 in the iTunes singer songwriter chart today! Incredible to be surrounded by people like Jake Bugg, Tom Odell and Ed Sheeran and it's all thanks to you for downloading the track!
If you haven't had a chance to grab it from iTunes yet, here it is https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/pull-me-down/id826492589?i=826494904 :) Gig tomorrow night in Oxford @ The Corridor - starts at 8:30ish and free entry! Then on March 8th it's the Westbourne House gig. If you're in Sussex, get yourself over to Chichester for an evening of great music, nibbles, drinks and a post concert natter. Lots of great local gigs coming up at the end of March "Pull Me Down" will be available on iTunes and Amazon MP3 from tomorrow!
Gig @ The Corridor in Oxford on Tuesday, here's the Facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/608860802529900/ So I didn't win, but The Mischa Macpherson Trio are fantastic and thoroughly deserving. The whole event was incredible and I can't wait to watch the first half on catchup! My first live performance on Radio 2 went well and it was great to hear that so many of you tuned in to listen and watched the ceremony on the red button. I made some really valuable contacts at the after party and the feedback yesterday and today has all been extremely positive :)
I have been booked for two more festivals today - Monmouth and Lichfield! The festival list so far also includes - Gloucester Quays Garden Party, Bristol Folk Festival, Dumbfest, Winchcome Festival, and Stroud Fringe Festival. For dates etc please look at my events page! Next two gigs are 'The Corridor', Oxford on Fri Feb 26th followed by the fundraiser at Westbourne House school in West Sussex on March 8th. WE RELEASE MY NEW SINGLE 'PULL ME DOWN' ON MONDAY 24th FEB - please buy the track on iTunes or Amazon MP3 and tell all your friends about it. Would be such a huge step to make it into one of the charts! Lots to look forward to! H x This is going to be a crazy few days! On Tuesday I will be interviewed live on BBC radio Gloucester in the afternoon at around 3pm and then in the evening I'll be off to Bristol for a live interview and performance on Points West TV (on BBC 1!) at around 6:30. Then up to London for the Folk Awards on Wednesday evening and playing live on BBC Radio 2 at around 8:30/9pm. After that there is a short window until the release of my new single "Pull Me Down" on February 24th. If you have yet to see the filmed live version of the track and downloaded it FOR FREE, you can do both of those things by clicking on the video below :) Keep your fingers crossed for me and please share the video as much as you possibly can! H x Great couple of gigs in Oxford - thanks to everyone who came and supported! Keep your eyes out for the live version of "Pull Me Down" coming out on the 17th.
Here's a video of "Tilly's Song live" to keep you going. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwVZ9OPAPYk Enjoy! H x I've just been booked for a slot on the acoustic stage at Dumbfest in Hampshire on May 3rd :) Really looking forward to the Oxford gigs coming up this week - make sure that you come to at least one if you're in the vicinity.
Here's today's cover, 'Easy' by Sheryl Crow. You know the drill. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg40YHsR2YY This week is an exciting one! Pete, my producer is coming down tomorrow evening to work on the track and then we will finally get into the studio again and have it finished on Wednesday, yay!
Then on Thursday we will head to Cheltenham for a live filmed recording session of 'Pull Me Down' at Yellow Shark Studio. The studio is plush and has a grand piano, so I can't wait to get in there again. I will also be lucky enough to be accompanied on the cello by the wonderful and super talented Barney Morse-Brown of Duotone http://www.duotonemusic.com. Barney is a singer-songwiter from Oxford, who tours with Birdy (yes Birdy!) as her cellist when he isn't performing his own stuff. We met the other night at The Catweazle Club and I was blown away by his set. Finally, tonight's video is Hallelujah, originally written by Leonard Cohen, but covered by a gazillion artists over the last few years including Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright and Alexandra Burke...and now me! I hope you like it - don't forget to share and comment and subscribe to my channel if you haven't already :) Until next time. H x Did an hour or so of busking this morning in Stroud before the weather closed in, and met some lovely people as always. Recorded one of my busking songs for YouTube when I got back - Kathy's Song by Simon and Garfunkel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4NNMNWVfzI - please share it on Facebook and Twitter if you like it. Thanks :)
3 new gigs in the diary - 12th Feb Exeter College MCR, 25th Feb The Corridor, Oxford, 23rd March Acklam Village Market, Portobello Road, London. Also looking at dates for another Oxford gig in February. May busk again tomorrow if it's sunny, possibly in Bath. Another video on the way for you tomorrow evening as well. H x It's a bit windy but the sun's out - am going to head into Stroud in about half an hour and see if I can play without all my stuff falling over. Maybe see you there! :) H x
