Happy Christmas Everybody! I hope that you are happily guzzling mince pies and cream as you read this - remember that the mince pie is just an instrument for the cream. I’ll give you some exciting news and a bit of a roundup to complete your Sunday evening. First of all, wow, what a year it’s been! I’d like to thank every single one of you for supporting me on this crazy journey so far. If you’ve been to a gig, bought a CD or download, followed me on Facebook/Twitter, showed a friend my YouTube video, liked/shared/commented on a post, hosted a house concert, helped me organise a tour, had me to stay while on tour, streamed my music…I could go on - you’ve all been doing your bit to help me move forward and reach more people with my music and I’m incredibly grateful! Here are just a few things we have achieved together in 2015: A successful debut album release. No.1 on Amazon Folk Chart. 4 singles in iTunes singer-songwriter top 100. 104 gigs including 3 tours - two in the UK, one in Holland. From 1000 - 3500 likes on Facebook. A mailing list of over 800 people. £3000 of crowd funding towards my second album… …once again I could go on…you guys are awesome and I couldn’t have done any of this stuff without you!! THANK YOU!!! Now for my exciting news - I have decided to name my second album “Young Runaway”. Tickets are now on sale for the mega launch gig I’m playing with the band on March 26th at Stroud Subscription Rooms. Support will come from the wonderful Black Feathers and tickets are available here http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase or via 01453 760900. Pre-production is now well underway as are plans for the album artwork, whoop whoop! As I mentioned above, preorders (well over 100 of them) have now brought the total crowdfunding to over £3000, which is absolutely fantastic! If you haven’t yet checked out what’s on offer, head over to http://www.hattiebriggs.co.uk/2nd-album for full details and info on how you can get involved.
We’re busy booking the Young Runaway tour at the moment and will be filling in the gaps with house gigs. Please get in touch if you’d be interested in having me to perform in your living room - [email protected]. The last Living Room Tour was such a success and I’ve already got some repeat bookings - can’t wait to get on the road again! My music video for Christmas single “Turn On The Lights” has reached 2000 views in 2 weeks! In case you missed it - https://youtu.be/6wa0QA-Ie-8. My final 2 gigs of December in Cheltenham and Bristol were both wonderful. Maggie’s Christmas Concert was particularly special and the perfect way to end the year. Here is a video of me performing “Turn On The Lights” live with the Maggie’s Choir and The Flowers Band at Christ Church in Cheltenham - an emotional experience all round, grab the tissues - https://www.facebook.com/HattieBriggsMusic/videos/1097511763658164/?l=1840808484534015924 So I think that’s a wrap (see what I did there)! All that’s left to say is have a wondifulous Christmas and a marviscellent New Year. Hug everybody for longer than you need to, and even if the turkey is overdone, the dog gets at the trifle and granny eats too many Brussels sprouts, keep on laughing with those you love and enjoy every moment of being together. I’m off to see the new Star Wars movie with the mothership and the brothership (see what I did there as well, hehe). I’ll catch you again in the New Year. May 2016 be the best year yet! Yours, Hattie xxx |
