Happy Friday to you all! I hope you're not feeling too depressed over the loss of that precious tan, and that now your faces are smooth and soft - cleansed by the constant drizzle and buffered by the wind. Edinburgh was a wee bit mad! It started very well when we got to the airport with lots of time to spare, but descended into stressful cursing when we found out that our bag was over the weight limit. 20 minutes later, after taking 2 boxes of CDs out of the bag, buying another bag for them to go as hand luggage, and checking in my guitar so that we were allowed more weight allowance on the first bag, we were back to a (less calm than we were originally) state of calm. As per usual on the flight I was sitting next to somebody with a cold who was coughing much of the time in my general direction. Luckily it was a short flight as trying not to breathe in too deeply gets pretty tiring very quickly. But enough of that, we made it in the end with all our luggage, some humour, and good health in tact to our Air B&B on the outskirts of Edinburgh. For the next few days we did a lot of exploring, plenty of lugging heavy stuff around while trying to avoid all the people handing out flyers, I did some busking and performed outside a touring milk float, was a guest performer at Alice Fraser’s panel show “Love Bites”, went to see the Edinburgh Tattoo (we got lucky and were offered a couple of tickets as it was sold out the whole time we were there), and saw some fantastic comedy performances - a pretty busy few days! The weather was good (better than at home actually), and we only got soaked through once while trying to catch the bus back to the B&B - great success! Here are a few pics - on Blackford Hill, busking outside Waverley Station, the milk float gig, "Love Bites", and the Tattoo. The next snippet of excitement is that Tilly’s Song music video is now finished and will be coming out with the single towards the end of September. You can check out the artwork at the top. I hope you’ve been able to catch the track (banjo and all) on local radio as it’s had quite a few plays already. If not, keep an eye on my Facebook page as I’ll keep posting the catch-up links. Here are some taster pics. As you can see, Tilly and I went back in time to film the video with our younger selves. I'm incredibly happy to say that what started off as one Living Room gig in Rotterdam has now turned into a 16 date tour of The Netherlands, wahoo, I can't wait!
